Operator portion of Course approved for 8 hours CPT

This two-day course prepares law enforcement instructors to teach the practical
application of ballistic shields in patrol and high-risk environments. Day One
focuses on safe and effective shield use during single and partner responses,
including movement, positioning, communication, and live fire. On Day Two,
instructor candidates teach agency personnel under the supervision of the lead
instructor. The course emphasizes sound instructional techniques and the proper
operation of a ballistic shield in high-risk environments.
Each instructor candidate may bring up to two officers from their agency at no
additional cost, allowing agencies to leave the course with a trained instructor and
two additional officers already trained in ballistic shield operations.
